Member of Parliament for Garissa Township and leader of Majority in the parliament Aden Duale has alleged that there are top politicians who are yet to be charged with graft.
Duale during an interview with Citizen TV commended the anti-graft institution in the country for the recent crackdown on corruption that saw prominent leaders arraigned and charged in court.
The MP was, however, quick to add that there are still top politicians whom he referred to as 'big fish' that were still on the loose and needed to be arrested and charged.
Duale nonetheless remained hopeful that the law will catch up with the corrupt politicians who were still free.
"But in my opinion, there are those who are big fish that have not yet been touched. They have not been touched. We have to say the truth. They have not been touched. Maybe they will be touched in 2020, and I pray to God they get touched. I am a Muslim and I don't want to lie.
(Lakini kwa maoni yangu, kuna wengi ambaye pia ni big fish ambaye pia hawajaguzwa. Ni lazima tuseme ukweli. Hawajaguzwa. Pengine wataguzwa 2020, na naomba mwenyezi mungu waguzwe. Mimi ni muislamu, sitaki niseme uongo)," Duale stated.
The year 2019 saw three governors charged with graft and consequently locked out of office. The governors included; Nairobi County's Mike Sonko, Kiambu County's Ferdinand Waititu, and Samburu Governor Moses Lenokulal.
