Deputy President William Ruto will throw his weight behind the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report, former Mukurweini MP Kabando Wa Kabando has said.
Ruto is yet to declare his stand on the report probably waiting to see its contents once it is released on Tuesday.
His close allies such as Uasin Gishu Women Representative Gladys Shollei and former Kakamega Senator Boni have termed the document as illegal and unconstitutional, an indication they may reject it.
However, Kabando has described Ruto as a brilliant politician who will not risk opposing the report since he is aware by doing so he will be committing political suicide.
"I posted here 6yrs ago that DP Ruto is NOT politically naive. He is a brilliant suave survivalist. I predict he will instantly support BBI report irrespective of content. Ruto knows what Waterloo means for him. He doesn't have any ideological position to differ. He's a realist," he posted.
The DP on Saturday called for an honest and sober debate on the BBI and cautioned against coercing Kenyans to back it.
“We all want to debate the BBI report as Kenyans and find solutions to the challenges facing the country. We should focus on issues that benefit all of us,” he said.
Kabando said even though the DP has been seemingly upset by just concluded Kibra parliamentary by-election outcome, his concerns about the BBI report should not just be swept under the carpet.
"Except for his unjustified rants and lamentations post-Kibra big loss (money and votes), Deputy President is raising pertinent issues on BBI. We shouldn't just ignore or dismiss his concerns. BBI report must be about WANJIKU. Only that RUTO is a modern-day ROBBIN HOOD," he added.
