He appeared to insinuate that the divisions that have been witnesses in the political arena would necessitate a unity project after the 2022 general elections.

"At this rate we will have BBI 3 in 2023. Good night, " the Senate majority leaders wrote in his Sunday night post on Twitter.

Murkomen's prediction comes amid serious divisions witnessed in the BBI meetings as politicians pull in different directions.

Politicians allied to the deputy president Dr William Ruto have traded strong words with those allied to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga.

DP Ruto allies have charged that the BBI meetings are aimed at securing the former prime minister's political interests ahead of the 2022 presidential elections.

In spite of the objective of the BBI being to unite Kenyans, it appears to be driving a wedge between them as politicians fight it out.

While one part of the political aisle call for the adoption of the BBI as was presented at the historic Bomas of Kenya, another part has called for the document to be revised.
