This is according to the latest research conducted by Trends and Insights For Africa (TIFA), and results released on Tuesday.

According to the results, Obado enjoyed 11% coverage in the news making him the most covered governor in Nyanza, and third in the country after Nairobi’s Mike Mbuvi alias Sonko and Kiambu’s Ferdinand Waititu who enjoyed 28% and 14% respectively.

In total, TIFA included 11 governors in this category. Kisumu Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o is not among the 11 governors.

Also missing from the 11 is Siaya’s Cornel Rasanga, Homabay’s Cyprian Awiti, Kisii’s James Ongwae and Nyamira’s John Nyagarama.

Last year, a poll conducted by TIFA ranked Nyong'o the top county chief among his peers in Kiambu, Mombasa, and Nairobi.

According to the results of the 2018 poll by TIFA, Nyong’o emerged the best governor with a 59% approval rating.

Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu emerged second with 53% followed by Joho and Sonko who tied at 51%.

The research was based on various key issues among them business environment, Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE), youth polytechnic education, public health services, access to clean water, and sewerage system management.
