Sitting in a room quietly with no form of technology, no internet and no company whatsoever might sound like a prison experience for most people.
What these people don't know however, is that that kind of solitude could just be a blessing in disguise. The key thing is to know that solitude doesn't necessarily mean you are lonely.
Here are major reasons why you should really consider having some solitude every once in a while;
1. Gives you an opportunity to reflect
That peaceful quiet time actually makes for the perfect opportunity to look back on your life and take in what has been happening to you. In which case you might chose to change some things about your life for the better.
2. Allows you to recharge
Spending too much time with people can actually be draining for everyone. At some point you might just need to take a breather and have some time to yourself before you can begin to associate with people again.
3. Helps you develop a sense of independence
This simply means when you decide to embrace that solitude you will need no validation from anyone when making a change or any kind of decision in your life.
4. Helps you spend time on your hobby
Granted taking part in group activities is fun and all but there's a lot of compromise that comes with it. The compromise comes in when you are forced to partake in an activity that you don't fancy but happens to be what the group agrees on.
Solitude gives you the opportunity to do things that you actually enjoy for a change. So do yourself a favour, embrace it.
5. Brings you back in touch with your emotions
Life tends to be overwhelming sometimes that we end up forgetting to take care of ourselves. Solitude helps you take a deep breath and get in sync with your emotions be it pain, anger, frustration or even love.
Wanting some time to yourself isn't something you should apologise for so don't let anyone guilt you into believing such.
