Tanzanian Bongo artist Rajab 'Harmonize' Kahali on Friday explained the reason why he has many bodyguards.
During the 10-over-10 show on Citizen TV Harmonize disclosed that he struggled before and he knows what it feels not to have a stable job.
He narrated that the numerous bodyguards accompanying him to various places are not for show off or security purposes.
Instead he employed them as a way of creating job opportunities to the unemployed youths disclosing that he used to hustle with most of his bodyguards before fame.
He said he has known them for long and saw it a good idea to give them jobs.
"For me security unawaona unawaona na mimi ni watu ninewafahamu ten years ago nkiwa bado mtaani nkitafuta biashara ndogo ndogo kupata riziki alafu ikafika point mungu akanifanya niwe harmonize na wao walikuwa badi mtaani Wakihangaika na nikasema mbona nisieaite ndugu zangu tufanye kazi pamoja tukitafuta riziki (The guards you see they are people I have known for more than ten years when I used to hustle back in the days. When God made me harmonize and they were still hustling I saw it fit to bring them onboard to hustle with me," said Harmonize).
"To me they are not my security guards they are my brothers who wenye tunashirikiana kwa pamoja kupata riziki," he added.
He narrated of how he would go hungry for lack of money where he was forced to hawk tea in Kariokor, Tanzania to make money.
"I used to wake up at 4am to make tea which I then hawked in Kariokot. I'm one of those people who had a tough life even though it's not good to speak on the highs and lows however when one speaks about then they can motivate many others," he said.
