Wafula Buke, a former political prisoner, was one of the longest-serving members and strategists of the party since its inception in 2006. However, last week, he broke the news of his sacking in a Facebook post.

In a post on his Facebook page, the Nyali lawmaker called Buke a 'great man' who has been 'betrayed' by the party he had served with dignity for many years.

"Brother Wafula Buke you are a great man. We who stood with ODM since its inception but later betrayed when we needed the party the most understand and feel you. Mungu si Athumani. It shall be well," Ali posted.

In a recent post on his Facebook page, Buke claimed that he was sacked by the Raila Odinga-led party due to his stand on corruption matters, adding that he would table the evidence at the right time.

"Corruption sacked me, South African EFF association was an excuse. When I'm through with my appeal to the Central Committee for reinstatement which I will lose, I will table evidence in various forms including videos. You will be shocked," he posted.
