Central Organizations of Trade Union (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli revealed that he always advocates for President Uhuru Kenyatta to remain in government even after his second and last term expires in 2022.
Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV’s JKL show on Wednesday night, Atwoli noted that President Uhuru has everything to cause trouble in the country if he quits politics at his young age.
“If a young man has money, and has connections and he can move around, he can give you a lot of problems, that is why a place for him must be sorted out.
“If there is peace in Uganda, why do they want to change leaders and continue fighting, having refugees time and again crossing over to Kenya soil? If that leader is keeping them well, let them continue supporting him,'' said Atwoli.
Atwoli dismissed a believe among Africans that if a leader stays in power for long then that leader is a dictator.
He blamed Kenyans for fighting every time there is an election because of bad culture.
He has been championing for President Uhuru Kenyatta to remain in power even after his second and last term expires in 2022.
Atwoli mentioned that Uhuru might give people problems if he retires at his age.
