About a year after their public wrangles and perceived collapse of the National Super Alliance (NASA) the alliance principals seem to have mended the fences.

ODM leader Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper) and Musalia Mudavadi (ANC) have been seen cosy towards each other lately, months after the team ganged up against Raila.

The three not only accused Raila's allies of demeaning them after they snubbed his January 30, 2018 mock presidential oath, but as well claimed that he left them in the dark regarding his truce with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

But the group has been seen attending functions together lately, the latest one being the memorial service of late Kibra MP Ken Okoth last Thursday, where they were seen sitting closely together and chatting.

According to an MP who spoke to the Standard, the leaders have also been meeting privately, possibly in preparation for the looming referendum and to plan their moves, considering that they have all opposed the Punguza Mizigo bill.

“They meet regularly, that I can tell you. I believe they are re-strategising for a possible referendum and political duels ahead,” the MP is quoted.

The remarks were echoed by Kakamega Senator Cleopa Malala who claimed that Raila is the force behind the reunion of the team.

He said that the alliance is almost back on its feet, and is in full support of Raila's truce with Kenyatta and push for constitutional changes under the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).

“We are now almost where we were before, under a united leadership. We support Raila’s handshake and the reform agenda, we can now move forward as a coalition,” he said.

Earlier in the week, Raila hosted former Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto who was the fourth principal of the alliance before dropping off following Raila's loss to Uhuru in the 2017 polls.
