Media reports on Wednesday claimed that the members were not unanimous in some final recommendations, forcing the team to go to drawing board again.

The team's mandate officially ended on Wednesday, over 15 months after it was gazetted by President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga.

Mr Odinga's spokesman Dennis Onyango dismissed claims that the team was facing internal opposition, adding that there will be no delays.

"There are neither disagreements nor delays over the content of BBI report," Onyango said in reference to social media reports

On Wednesday, the 14-man task force gave the clearest hint that it had made some radical recommendations and notified Kenyans that it had completed its assignment.

"The joint secretaries have officially communicated to the office of the President that the Building Bridges Initiative report is ready for handing over to the President," part of joint task force statement signed by BBI joint secretaries Paul Mwangi and Martin Kimani read.

Sources intimate that the team has recommended for Parliamentary system of government, which will now force the country to go for a referendum.

Deputy President William Ruto is cautious about the BBI report, arguing that Kenyans must thoroughly scrutinize it before deciding to make any changes.
