Garissa County activists have railed against the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) over what they call gross violations of the human rights of locals.
Speaking in Garissa on Wednesday, the irate activists claimed that scores of killings in the county had been masterminded by law enforcement authorities including the KDF.
"Victims of unlawful executions must receive justice and measures put in place to prevent further violations of the right to life of our people of Sangailu, Garissa County, " Muktar Osman, chairman of Garissa County activists said.
The strong words of the activists come in the wake of a shocking video that went viral on social media of a victim of alleged abuse by KDF.
They called on the government to take strong action on officers who have been torturing and killing civilians in the county.
Security forces have been operating in the North Eastern county in a bid to combat terrorist militants operating in the border county.
The activists said that the security forces beat up an innocent man in Sangailu who was in search of his goats.
He also suffered serious burns in his backside.
It is not clear whether the officer alleged to have burnt the man has been charged.
