Early this year, the Polish government donated Sh3.5 million towards the purchase of water heaters which are currently serving Nyamira County Referral Hospital.

On Tuesday, a team led by ambassador Wojciech Bozek visited the facility to inspect the progress.

Accompanied by the Health CEC Douglas Bosire, the Polish envoy donated Sh3.4 million more for equipment of various theatres in Sub County hospitals.

"We are happy with the manner in which the county is doing the work. We shall continue supporting the health department. That's our wish," he said.

Bosire hailed the Polish embassy for agreeing to invest in the department which is the largest in terms of budget allocations.

"With partners like Poland, we shall have more services devolved. We are very thankful for this programme. As a county, we are very happy," he told reporters after inspection.

The team later visited Governor John Nyagarama at his Tente residence. Nyagarama has earmarked Health as one of his big agenda before retirement.

Currently, the county government is constructing theatres in four Sub-Counties which shall be fully equipped by the end of this financial year.
