As he made his approach to the podium where leaders were seated, the outspoken governing Jubilee legislator was pushed back and forth, causing the area governor Charity Ngilu to intervene.

Ngilu did not show any sympathy for Moses Kuria's plight, ordering that he be ejected from the meeting because he had dared to insult President Uhuru Kenyatta.

"Nobody will abuse the president and be allowed into my meeting. No one, no one. Let him be removed. (Nobody will abuse mweshimiwa Uhuru Kenyatta na aingie kwa mkutano wangu. Hakuna, Hakuna, atolewe)," said an angry Charity Ngilu.

This was the first time that the Gatundu South MP has been ejected from a BBI meeting, underscoring the political divisions and tensions that the meetings have wrought.

In the Mombasa BBI chapter, Moses Kuria was harassed but allowed to access the podium.

After the meeting, the MP called a press conference and launched a scathing attack on former prime minister Raila Odinga.

Moses Kuria has been a staunch critic of the BBI, claiming that there are hidden agendas aimed at advancing the political interests of the ODM leader.
