In a tweet on Tuesday, Junet claimed that DP Ruto is a bitter man after he failed to secure the Kibra seat.

The lawmaker said that Ruto is unhappy after ODM thwarted his effort to rig the by-elections. He argued that Ruto wanted to bribe the residents of Kibra to elect Jubilee candidate McDonald Mariga.

He opined that Ruto has since been throwing tantrums after the loss.

"We’ve held a press briefing a few moments ago to - sadly - remind DP Ruto that he lost the Kibra by-election and he needs to accept defeat. He assured the public there will be no chaos in Kibra. What changed? He is only bitter because his attempt to rig was thwarted," he said.

Junet also said that Kenya is a mature democracy, adding that Ruto can seek legal intervention if he has evidence.

"Instead of whining, DP Ruto has one recourse. If he feels the election was affected by any extraneous event; and he has sufficient evidence; our country is a mature democracy. He must approach the courts. If a presidential election was nullified, what of an MP election? he added.

Ruto caused a political storm when he asked ODM leader Raila Odinga to denounce violence. He said Raila used violence to retain the seat in Kibra.

"As Kenyans, we demand that Tinga/his party unconditionally, unequivocally and publicly renounce the culture of violence, chaos, terror, and gangsterism their signature modus operandi as witnessed in Kibra and unreservedly apologize to victims past and present for their hurt and loss," he posted.

Ruto's camp has been jittery since the handshake between Raila and President Uhuru Kenyatta.
