Thirdway Alliance Party leader Ekuru Aukot has hit back at politician Mohammed Abduba Dida after his (Dida) attack on Aukot and his Punguza Mizigo referendum push.
This is after Dida faulted the bill, noting that it was drafted without the input of Kenyans, and without their consent, and ended up coming up with something they cannot relate to.
In a tweet on Tuesday, the former presidential aspirant, accused Aukot of being a poor listener, noting that it would have been better to consult Kenyans before making the proposal.
"Dr Aukot, your problem is, you brought us a bill that we NEVER ASKED FOR! Who told you to draft a bill? The right thing to do would have been to go to Kenyans, ask what they want, then draft a bill that reflects the OPINION OF THE PEOPLE. You are also "perfect". You DON'T LISTEN!" he wrote.
But in response on Wednesday night, Aukot, also a former presidential candidate, took issue with the remarks, finding them ignorant from a man who was in the race to lead the nation.
"I thought you wanted to be president of Kenya in 2013 and 2017! What constitution were you to implement when you display so much ignorance of the very constitution you could have taken oath to protect and defend? Pathetic!" he wrote.
The Punguza Mizigo bill has been facing opposition from a majority of notable political figures, in its bid to among others, slash elective representation and abolish some seats.
It was on Wednesday disqualified after being rejected by the majority 24, out of the total 47 county assemblies, meaning that it cannot garner the required 24 to move to the next level.
