Thirdway Alliance Party Leader Dr Ekuru Aukot has maintained that Kenyans do not care who will become their next President, so long as they can easily access services.

“If everybody is getting services at his village level, trust me even a cow can be President of this country and no one will care. If everybody is happy, why would we be bothered that our person has to be in State House?” said Aukot in a live televised event.

Speaking on Tuesday in the Murang’a County Assembly during the tabling of his Party’s Constitutional Amendment Bill dubbed Punguza Mizigo, Aukot said his mission is to ensure inclusivity through constitutional amendments.

“Inclusivity is when every Kenyan is sitting on that table to dine, not being on the table to be eaten. That is when real inclusivity will be achieved in this country,” said the former Presidential candidate.

He denied claims that his bill is proposing a reduction of the number of wards in the Country.

“We are keeping the wards as they are 1,450. And those wards will now be the avenue for us to reach people on the ground and to be able to effect development on the ground,” he insisted.

Recently, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) announced that the party had managed to collect 1.2 million signatures to set the constitutional amendment ball rolling.
