The search for the bodies of a mother and her daughter who drowned on Sunday evening resumed on Wednesday.
The Kenya Ferry Services management has noted that this will affect the ferry services for two hours.
In a tweet on Wednesday morning, the ferry users were asked to be patient and bare with the temporary suspension.
"We would like to inform our ferry users and the public at large that today from 9 am we anticipate to temporarily suspend ferry operations for two hours at the Likoni channel to pave way for the salvage teams operate an interrupted," wrote Kenya Ferry Service.
The ferry management also thanked the affected, especially the family of the victims for their patience and understanding as they try to recover their deceased family members' bodies.
Various groups of personnel were at the scene of accident. The Kenya Coast Guard Service, Kenya Navy, Kenya Ports Authority, Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute (KEMFRI) were present. More so, private divers were also seen ready to help recover the bodies of the victims.
Government Spokesman Cyrus Oguna noted that they are ready to provide assistance to the victim's family.
“We will provide any assistance that the family may need. We also wish to reiterate that as Government we are committed to the protection and safety of all Kenyans,” he said as quoted by Citizen Digital.
On Sunday, Mariam Kigenda and her four-year-old daughter Amanda Mutheu plugged into the Indian Ocean.
