The chairman of the Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Wafula Chebukati officially opened the training for officials for the Kibra by-election slated for 7, November.
In its Twitter, handle, the electoral body revealed the launch of the training.
"IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati today officially opened the training of election officials for Kibra MNA #byelections2019. Also present was Commissioner Molu and other IEBC officials #talkwithIEBC, " the IEBC tweeted
The officials are set to be trained on how to conduct a seamless poll that will determine who the next member of parliament for the constituency will be.
Over the weekend the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) had demanded that Chebukati makes public the names of the officials who will conduct the election.
The party also demanded that individuals who will officiate the by-election should be residents of the Kibra constituency.
Parties that have fronted candidates in the parliamentary race conducted campaigns over the weekend with cases of violence reported in some places.
The Kibra parliamentary seat was declared vacant by National Assembly speaker Justin Muturi after the death of former member of parliament Ken Okoth who succumbed to a run with cancer.
Pundits are keenly watching the race which has been framed by some as a proxy battle between veteran opposition leader Raila Odinga and Deputy President Dr William Ruto.
