The incident occurred after the aircraft reportedly hit wildebeests. The wildebeests allegedly ran across the runway when the plane was about to land forcing the pilot to crash-land into the animals.

There were reports of a death scare until the management clarified that everyone on board was fine.

The plane, which was later confirmed to belong to  Safarilink, had several tourists on board.

The management said that the plane was disabled moments after the incident. A report from the aircraft owner also revealed that engineers and staff from the company have already been sent to the place to investigate what transpired before and after the landing of the plane.

The management further said it will release a report once the investigation is complete.

“The aircraft is disabled and we have dispatched other aircraft to take engineers, and company staff to the site to further assess the situation,” read the statement.

According to Mara Triangle Tourism officer David Top, the tyre from the plane came out before it crash-landed.

The accident left two wilderbeests dead.

"It was around 10.30am when the plane developed a mechanical hitch, speeding and hitting a herd of wildebeests," said the official.

SafariLink has also said that there is no cause for alarm over the safety of the passengers using its plane to tour different destinations across the country after the incident.
