Odinga has been trading words with ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi lately, amid a fallout which began when Mudavadi skipped Raila's January 2018 mock presidential inauguration.

The ANC party leader has since taken issue with Raila's alliance with Ukambani and Jubilee politicians, with his party also demanding a share of the political parties fund from ODM.

But Savula, also the Lugari Member of Parliament, has called for calm and respect for the ODM leader, saying that Mudavadi will need Raila to realize his 2022 presidential bid.

"We should not insult Raila, we should respect him. Let us not have issues with him because we need his backing for Mudavadi (Sisi tusimtusi Raila, tumheshimu. Tusiwe na shida na Baba maana tutamhitaji aunge Mudavadi mkono)," he said on Wednesday night.

The lawmaker made the remarks on Radio Citizen's Pata Shika show, also attended by Gilgil MP Martha Wangare and former Yatta MP Francis Mwangangi.

He hinted that the party will be coming up with a major union after the Kibra elections, one which he said will make Mudavadi's victory in 2022 a reality, ahead of time.

The MP revealed that the plan also includes bringing on board Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM) leader Kalonzo Musyoka, on a condition that he rallies behind Mudavadi's bid.

"After the Kibra polls, we will be forming an alliance. We will also seek to hold talks with Kalonzo. (Baada ya Kibra tutaunda muungano. Tutatafuta Kalonzo pia tuongee na yeye)," he added.

However, latest reports indicate that Kalonzo is in similar talks with Deputy President William Ruto, who Mudavadi has since ruled out working with.
