The DP has made it clear that he will be in the 2022 presidential ballot and has been consequently accused of among others, engaging in early campaigns to realize the bid.

And while he has not been publicly endorsing himself, his allies have been endorsing his bid, which has been seen to go against President Uhuru Kenyatta's anti-campaign directive.

Speaking on Wednesday, Ngunjiri, founder of the anti-Ruto Kieleweke faction, claimed that the DP's actions point at a man attempting to impose himself on the top seat.

"You cannot take the presidency in this country by force. That is what the Deputy President is trying to do," the MP said in an interview on KTN's Pointblank show on Wednesday night.

He warned that despite the DP's attempts to woo the populous Mt Kenya region to his side, he is set for futility should he think he can singlehandedly achieve it.

According to the first time lawmaker, Ruto will have to reach to the region's leadership to get the millions of votes.

"Ruto will not take any part of Central unless he negotiates with the leadership of Central Province," he noted.

The remarks come amid a said widening rift between the DP and President Uhuru Kenyatta, the Mt Kenya defacto kingpin.
