The boy said that he came to realize of the same during the exam rehearsals on Monday, and was to sit his paper at a private school in Migori Town, where he has been learning.

He said that he was told to appear in school to sit his first paper on Tuesday, only to realize that he was not among those scheduled for the paper.

"On Monday, I was told to come in the morning and sit the Mathematics exam but was shocked when I was locked out because my name was missing," he said.

He added that he is aspiring to be an engineer, threatening to cut short his life on grounds that the incident has cut short his dream, with his mother expressing her concerns as well.

The mother said that the boy had been a good performer, as she expressed worries of losing her son. She said that she too was shocked at the turn of events.

“We knew our son was going to sit the exam and he was well prepared. He has been performing well, but we are afraid of losing him because he may commit suicide,” she said.
