When a friend or a family member is grieving, that is the best moment to show them love and support. 

Most people tend to lack words when it comes to comforting people that are grieving. 

If you have been in such a situation, here are some ways to comfort a grieving person: 

1. Be there for them

Just being physically present with the person as he/she undergoes grief is so much comforting.

You don't have to say anything to the person, your presence speaks a million words. You can make it better by staying around, helping with chores, and planning.

2. Send comfort messages

Sometime speaking out, and sharing your condolence message face to face may be difficult due to emotions, in such a case, also send a message of condolence to the person.

However, will so doing, be keen not to inflict more pain. For example, do not say " know what you are going through". This is wrong since everyone grieves differently.

3. Offer assistance where necessary

Grieving is tough, and many people lose balance and focus during this period.

You can swing in, and take charge of the person's surrounding during this time. For instance, you can help with coordination of burial preparations among other things.
