Veteran politician Koigi wa Wamwere has poked holes into the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report, days after its launch.
In a Facebook post, Koigi said that the content of the BBI report will not change the lives of Kenyans in any way.
He noted that the country needs better solutions to its problems rather than the post for a referendum.
The former Subukia MP argued that the report is owned by President Uhuru Kenyatta and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Amolo Odinga.
“BBI smacks of a pregnancy of two persons – Uhuru and Raila – who treat Kenya and now BBI as their personal ownership to which any Kenyan can be welcome or unwelcome," he said.
He noted that the report has caused a split between Raila, Uhuru and Deputy President William Ruto, adding that the trio is no longer fighting for same Kenya.
“From what we saw yesterday, BBI smacks of a bigger and growing split between Ruto, Raila, and Uhuru that can only get bigger if the three political leaders do not retire from politics and give room to new leaders," he noted.
The human rights activist also said that the report has hidden political violence while referring to what was witnessed during the by-election in Kibra.
He further alluded that time has come for leaders to be united on the right course and not anything else.
