President Trump has been going ballistic against suspected militants, ordering killing of Iran Revolutionary Guard Corps commander Qassem Soleimani on Friday.

Also, Trump insisted that he will ensure certain areas are put on check in Iran, accusing Tehran of encouraging terror.

Dr Khalwale on Sunday hailed the Kenya Defense Forces for securing a US Naval Base in Lamu, which came under attack from Al-Shabaab militants.

"Besides the many other terrorist attacks, Dusit 2, Westgate and now this! Kenya must firmly join the rest of the free world in supporting POTUS, Donald Trump, in his no nonsense approach in tackling terrorism, terrorists and terror groups. Kudos KDF," he tweeted.

KDF spokesman Col Paul Njuguna on Sunday said at least four militants had been killed during the flopped raid.

He said that the area had been secured, adding that KDF was combing the area. Camp Simba is used for training by US soldiers.

"This morning at around 5:30 am an attempt was made to breach security at Manda Air Strip. The attempted breach was successfully repulsed. Four terrorists bodies have so far been found," he said.

"The airstrip is safe. Arising from the unsuccessful breach a fire broke out affecting some of the fuel tanks located at the airstrip. The fire has been put under control and standard security procedures are now on-going," he added.
