State House has termed the courageous fight by Kibra MP Ken Okoth against cancer as an inspiration to Kenyans from all walks of life.
In a statement on Tuesday, State House spokesperson Kanze Dena noted the long stay of Mr Okoth out of the country, adding that his return was much welcome.
Further, she said, State House is confident that Mr Okoth will emerge victorious. She further asked Kenyans to pray for those affected with the disease.
"In closing, allow me to mention a great son of Kenya, the Member of Parliament for Kibra Constituency Mheshimiwa Ken Okoth who has recently returned to the country after months of treatment in France, is the true Kenyan spirit of resilience, Mheshimiwa Okoth has shown immense courage in his fight against cancer.
"The Honorable Okoth's determination to defeat the disease is an inspiration to many Kenyans. As we wish Mheshimiwa quick recovery, we ask the country to support fellow Kenyans affected by cancer," Dena said.
The second term MP jetted back home from Germany last week after several months of treatment. He also made a public appearance but did not speak to the media.
A friend of Mr Okoth, Fred Gori, said that the MP was gracious of his wife Monica, who spent several months in hospital with him throughout the treatment process.
"Last night, Kibra MP Ken Okoth told us something worth mulling over.Guys, take care of your wives. You may have a lot of money for treatment but nothing equals a woman who stands by you in your moment of illness," posted Gori.
