ODM leader Raila Odinga will be among the key guests in Kenya Diaspora Alliance (KDA) forum that will take place from December 17th in Nairobi.
The KDA has organised the three days convention at Ole Sereni Hotel where President Uhuru Kenyatta's Big Four agenda will be broadly discussed.
KDA chairman Shem Ochuodho told the Nation that Mr Odinga will be attending in his capacity as AU Infrastructural Development envoy.
Other keynote speakers will be Mr Siddharth Chatterjee UN Resident Coordinator, Danish Ambassador to Kenya Mette Knudsen and Mr Jerome Otieno, Group MD Life, UAP Old Mutual, East Africa.
Dr Ochuodho said the theme for this year’s convention is “Diaspora: The Big Four Agenda”.
Mr Odinga has been very passionate about the diaspora and he's among those who pushed to have them given rights to vote.
“One is that they are talking of doing away with restrictions on dual citizens holding public offices, or to be State officers. Secondly, it is also talking about finding ways in which diaspora can be infused and incentivised to invest at home,” said Dr Ochuod.
Despite being at loggerheads with Uhuru at first, Mr Odinga has been instrumental in the president's final term following their handshake.
Uhuru is keen to leave a good legacy. He had Housing, Health and Manufacturing as some of the areas he will focus on before his 2022 exit.
