A section of Gusii leaders on Saturday yet again endorsed Deputy President William Ruto for State House race, insisting that he's the most suitable candidate.
Dr Ruto attended fundraisers at Tente SDA Church in West Mugirango and Gekano Parish in Kitutu Masaba constituency, a day after visiting North Mugirango.
The BBI report was subject of debate by a section of leaders supporting his State House bid. A number of them vowed to shoot it down.
West Mugirango MP Vincent Kemosi insisted that the country is not ready for parliamentary system of government, adding that Ruto will be their preferred candidate.
"Those telling us about BBI should stop. We cannot allow MPs to chose leaders for us. It's the people who will chose the president and Ruto is our candidate," he said.
Kitutu Masaba MP Shadrack Mose also rebuked parliamentary system, arguing that it will deny people chance to pick leaders of their choice.
"Power belongs to the people. We are going to reject those attempts. Across Gusii, we have already decision to endorse DP William Ruto."
Similar sentiments were echoed by North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko and nominated MCA George Mosiori, who accused ODM of having 'bad faith'.
Dr Ruto steered clearly off the BBI debate, only insisting that he's ready for the contest. He said that Jubilee goverment will continue rolling out projects across Kenya.
