A group of church leaders were on Friday quizzed following complains from one of the pastors at the troubled Nairobi Central Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) church.
Pastor Jean Maiywa had told the police at the Kilimani Station that he was recently accosted by an armed bodyguard of one of the pastors of the rival faction.
Consequently, ten prominent members of the St Maxwell Church, including two army officers, a retired postmaster general, a professor and a doctor were on Friday questioned.
A Nakuru politician is part of the ten people who were questioned, as power and leadership tussles continue at the church which was once frequented by top national figures including Interior CS Fred Matiang'i.
Maiywa, the church's business board chairman claimed that the group, which was on Friday led by their lawyer Samuel Keengwe to record statements is plotting to kill him.
The lawyer rubbished Maiywa's claims that one of his clients Eric Magutu, a church elder, was armed with a gun, noting that Magutu is not a gun holder.
He said that the group is not new to such allegations, and were four years ago again questioned over the murder of Vincent Okeyo, another pastor.
