Former Kakamega Senator Dr Boni Khalwale has told off ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and his Ford-Kenya counterpart Moses Wetangula over the alleged revival of the National Super Alliance (NASA).
Khalwale argued that the two leaders should not believe that a newspaper story of a purported likely alliance between the NASA brigade ahead of the 2022 polls, would make them mobilize Western Kenya residents to vote for the ODM leader again.
"I want to caution honourable (mheshimiwa) Wetangula and mheshimiwa Mudavadi. If they think they will group us like prisoners with the 2017 mentality, just because a newspaper has reported that they have reunited as NASA so that our people are mobilized like a herd of cattle to vote for Raila again. Wetangula and Mudavadi go do those things in Nairobi and Kisumu (Kama wanafikiria watatuweka kama wafungwa kwa fikra za 2017, eti wamenakiliwa kwa gazeti la leo kwamba wamerudi pamoja kama NASA, ndio watu wetu wakusanywe kama ng'ombe wapigie kura Raila tena, Wetangula na Mudavadi hayo maneno mfanyie uko Nairobi na Kisumu)," he said.
Khalwale hit out at the two leaders, arguing that they should take their issues of the purported alliance to Kisumu and Nairobi.
Khalwale was speaking at a function in Western Kenya on Sunday.
In the run-up to the 2017 general elections, a number of parties including ODM, ANC, Wiper and Ford-Kenya came together to form the National Super Alliance (NASA).
However, after the handshake between President Uhuru and Raila in 2018, cracks started emerging in the NASA coalition, making it's constituent parties to go separate ways.
On Sunday, the Standard newspaper speculated of a likely regrouping of the NASA coalition parties in preparation for the looming referendum and the 2022 elections.
