The lawmaker asked Chief Justice David Maraga to inspire his team so that they can swing into action for better service delivery. He noted that the issue of case backlog has affected the delivery of justice in corruption-related cases.

The lawmaker said that time has come for the court system to pull up its socks to ensure there is an improvement in the performance of the sector.

"I believe the Judiciary needs to do better than what they are doing," he said.

On the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), Kioni said that the leaders need to inform Kenyans that most of the proposals are based on issues to do with policies. He reminded the leaders to educate Kenyans on the report before it is implemented at the end of the day.

"We need to quickly let Kenyans know that many parts of the BBI are based on policy issues," he said.

He also asked the government to address issues that affect the general public with the seriousness that they deserve. The legislator noted that the government has not done much to transform the lives of millions of Kenyans in different ways.

"Kenyans will appreciate to see that the issues that concern them are given weight and not treated like side issues," he said.
