A road accident on the Meru–Isiolo Highway has claimed the lives of four Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) officers

The accident that happened on Sunday night involved a vehicle carrying the KDF officers and a personal vehicle.

Confirming the incidence, Buuri OCPD Joseph Asugo noted that the two cars collided head-on at Matunda area. 

This was after the driver of the vehicle carrying the KDF officers lost control of his vehicle. 

He collided head-on with a personal car that was coming ahead. The car was carrying a family of four, a man, his wife and their two kids. 

Luckily, the four survived with injuries. Unfortunately, four KDF officer died on spot. 

The four who survived with injuries were rushed to Kiirua Mission Hospital, where they received medical care. 

Remains of the KDF officers were taken to the Kiirua Mission Hospital mortuary. 

This is not the first time the country ha lost its KDF officers in a road accident. KDF officers are important in helping the country fight the Al Shaabab. 

It is a big blow losing them on road accidents.

Many times, drivers have been advised to be watchful and alert to avoid accidents. 

Road accidents cause numerous deaths and injuries among Kenyans every day.
