Harambee Stars striker Michael Olunga’s Japanese club; Kashiwa Reysol are the 2019 Japanese League Two (J-League2) champions.
Reysol won the title on Saturday after thrashing hosts Machida 3-0 in the second last game of the season.
The win propelled Olunga’s side to top of the log with 81 points after 41 matches, five points ahead of second placed Yokahama FC.
The season ends next weekend with Kashiwa playing host to Kyoto FC.
The former Gor Mahia striker did not have a role to play in Kashiwa’s latest win, as he is on duty with the national team.
Olunga is expected to be back in Japan in good time for Kyoto assignment.
He took to his Facebook page to congratulate his colleagues after winning the title.
"Congratulations team J2 champions," he posted.
A part from winning the J-league 2 title, Kashiwa Reysol got an automatic promotion spot back to the top flight J-league, one season after being relegated.
Olunga has scored 19 goals for his team this season to become the side’s top scorer.
The league’s top scorer this season is Brazilian Leonardo, who has managed to score 27 goals for his team Albirex Niigata.
On Thursday, Olunga scored a goal against Egypt to rescue a point in group G’s 2021 AFCON qualifier played in Cairo.
Stars next face Togo in Nairobi on Monday.
