Kapseret Member of parliament Oscar Sudi has blasted the media for covering about the condition of former president Daniel Moi.
On his Facebook page, Sudi stated that covering about Mzee Moi's health condition was an invasion of privacy, primitive and shameful wondering whether there was a shortage of news.
"I woke up this morning and I was surprised to see screaming headlines on our local newspapers detailing how Mzee Moi is unwell. This is shameful, primitive and a show of disrespect from the media. Have we run short of issues and news in our country?" asked Sudi.
Sudi stated that the former president should be accorded the respect he deserves putting in mind that at his age he is supposed to be going for routine check-ups.
He said the former president should be allowed to recuperate peacefully.
"Mzee Moi and his family should be accorded the respect they deserve; with his age, routine check-ups are normal and expected of anyone who is old like him. Let's respect the family and allow Mzee to recuperate," he said.
On Tuesday morning news about the deteriorating health condition of Mzee Moi was all over the media.
According to the family, Mzee Moi had developed breathing problems and was admitted to the ICU.
