Kenyan musician Akothee has revealed details that led to the postponement of the much-awaited women's conference.
The 'Give it to me singer' had organized the event in partnership with Ugandan socialite Zari Hassan and it was scheduled to take place on July 23 in Mombasa.
Speaking during an interview on Radio Citizen's Mambo Mseto on Thursday, Akothee claimed that they were forced to postpone the event due to public demand.
She said that most people said that the event was announced on short notice. The mother of five added that their busy schedule and balancing between work and family was also one of the major reasons that led to the postponement.
According to Akothee, they were planning to relocate the event to Nairobi to make it easily accessible for people from various parts of the country.
"The women's conference; we had planned to host it on 23rd but postponed a little bit because as you know Zari has children and I have a family too and we also have businesses. We also received several messages claiming the date was too soon. So we have given ourselves time to plan it so that we can attend to all women, they should come for us to learn from each other.
So tumejipatia nafasi ya kuipanga ili tuweze kuhudumia wanawake wote waje ili tuweze kujifunza)," Akothee explained during the interview.
