Kenyan singer Esther Akoth alias Akothee has stepped up her bid to change the lives of Turkana people by taking it to Parliament.
On Wednesday, Akothee met legislators at Parliament buildings where she asked them to back up her quest in making Turkana better in terms of food security.
Taking it to Facebook thereafter, Akothee said she is targeting about 200 members.
"I just imagined the 200 Members of Parliament joining my initiative @akotheefoundation to find a solution. We cant keep asking for paybill and donating food every time. We need a parmanent solutionIf you believe it will Happen, just type AMEN," read her Facebook post in part.
For years, Turkana has been facing endless hunger-related issues. It has become common that every year, the government donates food to Turkana.
Akothee's move is set to bring to an end such and help the people of Turkana be self-reliant.
The mother of six believes it is possible to change the status of Turkana this time around.
"I have some driving force within me! Telling me that we can change the status of Turkana🙏🏾 ! If one day I was poor and now riding high from choppers to 5 star hotels! Why can it be impossible to change lives of only 800, 000 people?" she posed.
However, the singer's visit to Parliament was temporarily blocked due to her dress code. She was skimpily dressed.
