The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) had several candidates who were expected to battle it out in search of the coveted ticket for Kibra MP.
However, former Embakasi South MP Irshad Sumra has revealed that he will not contest.
“I am not in the race. I only came because I support Kibra and I love Kibra," Sumra said.
Another expected candidate was Raila Odinga's daughter Rosemary Odinga. She has also announced that she will not be part of the nomination battle to replace Ken Okoth.
“I will not be able to vie in Kibra, but I wanted to come here today to greet and talk to you and to say I will keep interacting with you to the end,” she said.
Ms Odinga was expected to be among the front-runners but a sickness ruled her out in 2017.
“I was doing a workshop for ladies who want to be politicians, and my head was just aching. Then I remember I was called for breakfast and I couldn’t open the door… eventually, after knocking and opening the door, I just collapsed onto the help who was there,” Rosemary recalled in an exclusive interview with Citizen TV’s Victoria Rubadiri last year.
