He on Friday led some of his officials in urging locals of Luo Nyanza to avail all their children, including those with disabilities and those with mental problems.

He said that his council is aware that some parents might be tempted to hide their children, but insisted that they too must be allowed to participate in the head counting like the others.

“I am urging residents of this region not to hide any child even if they are suffering from mental disabilities. We want everybody to be included in the census,” he said.

The leader who was speaking at his home in Kendu Bay, Homa Bay County further urged the youth to fully participate in the process by ensuring that all are counted.

He termed it a rare exercise in which everybody should participate, further challenging political leaders to spearhead the same by encouraging residents to take part.

“We appeal to all leaders from Luo community to encourage people to ensure nobody is left out during the exercise,” he added.

Last month the Ker (his Luo tittle) landed in controversy when he allegedly proposed the inheritance of former Kibra MP the late Ken Okoth's wife Monica Lavender.

He has been fighting for the position with Willis Otondi.
