In the changes, the governor appointed James Koome to replace Daniel Kiogora as Youth Affairs, Sports and Culture executive following the latter's resignation.

The county boss said he is confident that Koome will help him deliver on his promises because he has the qualification and experience to perform.

Through Meru County Assembly Speaker Joseph Kaberia, Kiraitu asked the county assembly to vet Koome before presenting him with the results on July 23, for a formal appointment before he embarks on service delivery.

The county boss also decided to reshuffle different chief officers in his government.

He moved Education executive Haron Kanathi to Water and Irrigation, Roads and Transport executive Denson Mwirigi to trade, and chief officer for Cooperatives Patrick Kirema to Education, and Trade’s executive Catherine Wanja to Cooperatives.

Other changes include Lands and Public Works executive Martin Gitiye who was moved to Physical Planning and Urban Development, and Joseph Muthuri to the office of chief officer for Energy.

The acting chief officer for Water and Irrigation George Kimathi was transferred to Roads and Transport, and acting chief officer for Energy Timothy Kaaria, moved to Lands and Public Works in the same capacities respectively.
