Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary General Edwin Sifuna is expected to fly out of the country on Monday evening.
Speaking on Radio Citizen Monday morning, the former Nairobi senatorial hopeful noted that he will be flying to China on behalf of the party.
Sifuna said that he will be in the Asian nation on a party assignment, close to a month ahead of the anticipated Migori Senatorial by-election.
‘’I will be leaving for china tonight to handle some issues on behalf of the party,’’ said Sifuna without shedding more light about the trip.
The trip comes at a time when the opposition chief Raila Odinga-led outfit is fighting from many battle fronts, including the ongoing rebellion at the coast.
It also comes at a time when the party is facing a similar scenario in Luo Nyanza, following the upcoming rebellion from Migori Governor Okoth Obado.
Obado is opposed to the party’s nomination of former Rongo parliamentarian Ochilo Ayacko to represent the bloc in the looming by-election.
Also in the list is the growing hostility between the party members and Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa who has accused Raila of using underhand methods to realize his ouster.
