Garissa Township Member of Parliament appeared to bury the hatchet with Governor Ali Bunow Korane on Sunday.

In a long Facebook post, the outspoken legislator, who doubles up as the leader of the majority in the National Assembly, committed to working with the Garissa governor for the benefit of the county.

He also committed to uniting the people of Garissa, saying they deserve services from the county and national governments.

The Garissa lawmaker expressed his gratitude to those who played a role in the reconciliation process.

"I have committed myself to unity and peaceful co existence with all leaders in order for the people of Garissa to achieve desired deliverable services they deserve in the next 3 years from both the national and county government. 

"My commitment to working with governor for service delivery and unity of the people is my ultimate goal.Thank all the leaders who nurtured and facilitated the reconciliation process that will ultimately bring peace and development to Garissa County, " Duale's Facebook post read in part.

Some time this year Korane and Duale traded barbs publicly, sparking speculation that the two were locked into supremacy wars.

Korane had accused the majority leader of working to undermine his administration.
