Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has offered to tutor Kibra Member of Parliament-elect Imran Okoth on matters service delivery, now that he has taken over the constituency.

Speaking on Wednesday during an interview on Radio Citizen, the county boss said he is ready to hold the new lawmaker's hand, and show him the way on matters quick development for his people.

He said this being his ideology, and even the name of his party; Maendeleo Chap Chap, which translates to 'quick development', he will be happy to help.

"Niliambia Imran akuje Machakos nimwonyeshe maendeleo chapchap (I told him to come to Machakos so that I can show him quick development) because I have a personal interest in Kibra," said Mutua, a former resident of Kibra.

Meanwhile, Imran has already hit the ground running, in a bid to actualise some of the promises he made to residents during campaigns.

On Tuesday, Imran visited Kibra Secondary School construction site to gauge the progress made so far.

During the campaign period, Imran promised voters that in his first 100 days in office, he would ensure that the construction of the Kibra Secondary School is completed.

"One key promise was to handover Kibera Secondary School within my first 100 days in office. I inspected the on going works earlier today to ensure that I meet the target," he said.
