A Wiper Party politician in Nyamira County has condemned a section of MPs from Nyamira and Kisii counties who have recently ganged against Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i.

Speaking in Nyamira on Wednesday, the politician, Victor Swanya Ogeto warned MPs Shadrack Mose of Kitutu Masaba, North Mugirango's Joash Nyamoko, Sylvanus Osoro (South Mugirango), Innocent Obiri (Bobasi),  John Oyioka (Bonchari) and West Mugirango's Vincent Kemosi over their continued onslaught against Matiang'i. 

According to Swanya, the Gusii community leaders need to appreciate the good work the CS is doing in the Jubilee government. 

"The MPs who have teamed up to insult Matiang'i are just greedy. As leaders from the community we should be proud of Matiang'i and support him where necessary so that he can deliver but not hurling insults at him when attending political functions," he said. 

The vocal politician who unsuccessfully vied for the Kitutu Masaba MP seat during the 2017 polls challenged Matiang'i to ignore the MPs whom he termed as confused after they joined the 'Tangatanga' team. 

"The lawmakers insulting Matiang'i should open eyes and serve the electorates since divisive politicking will derail development in the region," Swanya noted. 

He also assured that the Gusii community is fully in support of Matiang'i.
