Head coach Andre Casa Mbungo believes AFC leopard's strikers inability to score goals is costing them after their 0-0 draw against Kariobangi sharks.
The referee’s decision late on denied Ingwe their first win of the season, after John Mark Makwata's goal was ruled out for offside in the Sunday afternoon football encounter.
Mbungo's striking men looked toothless to lead the line with new signing Ismaila Diarra struggling to make an impact, Mbungo believes Diarra has not well adapted to the premier league demands.
“It’s an improvement from how we played against Kakamega Homeboys in our opener. It will take time for the team to gel but not to every player.
“Adaptation from each player is different and there are some who are already at per with the rest. Diarra didn’t have a good game today but I know he will come good after more game,” Mbungo said
As it stands, Ingwe are short of quality striking options with Diarra simply not the answer, but Mbungo believes the team needs to work on the striking force.
“We deserved to win the match but we were not at our best in the final third. We haven’t scored yet in the season and we have to work on our striking front before we play Wazito next weekend.
“The match will be at Bukhungu and we have to prepare and give our fans something to smile about,” Mbungo said.
