The body of Ngeria Girls' High School teacher, Gloria Song'utey was on Monday found dumped at a maize plantation in Outspan in the outskirts of Eldoret town.
Confirming the incident, Kapseret sub-county Police Commander Francis Warui said it's suspected that she was killed elsewhere and her body dumped at Outspan.
“Yesterday during the day, we got information that there was a body of a teacher found in the maize plantation. Police went there and found that it was a lady who was strangled to death and dumped in a maize plantation,” Warui said.
He added they found the rope near the deceased body and that they suspect it was used to kill her.
“After investigations on the body of the deceased, it was found to be of a lady called Gloria Song’utey, a Nandi female adult, 27-years-old and a teacher at Ngeria Girls' High School,” the Kapseret Police Commander stated.
Police have started investigations into her murder.
Warui, however, said that the deceased was at one time married but later separated with her husband.
The body of the deceased was taken to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) mortuary while investigations continue.
