Political analyst Herman Manyora now wants President Uhuru Kenyatta and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) to declare their stand on Deputy President William Ruto's bid.
This comes amid a growing political romance between the two after their 2018 truce, one that, however, seems to have isolated the DP and broken his initial closeness with Uhuru.
The commentator now wants Raila to convene a meeting where Uhuru should make clear his intentions regarding Ruto's presidential bid, and if possible form a union ahead of the 2022 polls.
Speaking on Saturday, he termed this as the only way out of the growing political tension in the country currently, which he said might land the nation into more problems after the polls.
"Uhuru, Raila and William Ruto together. In this sitting, the responsibility will be on Raila and Ruto to convince William Ruto. If you are not going to support him for the presidency tell him, give him the reasons and let him buy into the idea," he said on his YouTube analysis channel Take It or Leave It.
He said that the declaration will level the ground ahead of the 2022 presidential race, observing that it will alert Ruto on want awaits him with regards to Uhuru's endorsement.
Manyora added that it will also go a long way in suppressing the politics of tribalism, historical injustices and betrayals that have always characterized the nation's political arena.
The commentator said that offering him a chance to join them will deny Ruto the excuse to accuse Uhuru of betrayal, after the president's 2013 vow to pick the DP as his successor.
"If he (Ruto) does not buy into the idea he will leave and people in a clear war," he added.
