A Nakuru man narrated to the police why he killed his 26-year-old girlfriend, Daisy Chebet, and secretly buried her.
The confession by the 38-year-old Geoffrey Kipkurui forced the police to exhume the body on Wednesday evening to the shock of Nyota Muchorwe Village residents in Molo sub-county, Nakuru County.
The suspect revealed that he killed his lover four weeks ago and buried her in Bargeret Forest in Molo over an alleged extramarital affair.
The charcoal seller in Molo town fatally injured his girlfriend who sells cabbages in the same town after an argument ensued.
According to K24, when locals noticed what he had done, they tried lynching him but was rescued by the police.
Molo sub-county Police Commander Isaac Odumbe confirmed the murder and said the suspect will be charged with murder after finalizing their investigations.
He stated that Kipkurui was arrested on Tuesday before leading the police to the crime scene yesterday, Wednesday.
The deceased's brother Erick Rotich, stated that they sensed danger when their sister failed to visit her children who stay with their mother as was her custom.
Chebet's friend, Ann Wangui described the deceased as a calm person.
Her body is at Molo Hospital morgue awaiting postmortem while Kipkurui is being detained at Molo Police Station.
