The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has finally complied with a court ruling that directed them to provide the Orange party with a full register of voters in Kibra constituency.
In a tweet on Wednesday, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) announced that they had been handed the full register of voters as per the court ruling.
ODM had moved to court seeking orders to compel IEBC to provide a voters' register that has full details of voters in Kibra.
The party had claimed that the earlier provided register did not have full details of the voters.
"The @IEBCKenya has finally complied in accordance with the court ruling. We now have the full register with all the required details as requested for. Ag CEO Marjan Hussein Marjan handed the register to Legal Affairs Officer @MoturiTony and the DoC @EtalePhilip," read the tweet.
ODM had demanded that the IEBC should supply them with a full register of voters in Kibra constituency ahead of the by-election for them to verify in order to ensure a foolproof voting process.
When the electoral body gave them a register with some details missing, they decided to seek the court's injunction on the matter.
On Wednesday, just a day to the mini poll, the court ruled in favour of the party and IEBC had no option other than to adhere to the directive.
