Dagoretti North lawmaker Simba Arati has condemned Deputy President William Ruto's growing hostility towards Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) chief Raila Odinga.
The DP's latest attack on the former Prime Minister came on Monday when he branded him the 'Lord of Poverty' and an anti-progress campaigner who is opposed to development.
Speaking on Wednesday night, the Arati who belongs to the Orange party claimed that the shots are actually being directed at President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila is just a channel.
He accused the DP of taking his frustrations with the Uhuru-Raila handshake of 2018 out on Raila, saying that he is bitter with the former Premier since he cannot face the president.
"Ukiona Ruto anatusi Raila ni kwa sababu ya handshake na anatusi Uhuru. Ni vile hawei mtusi Rais face to face (when you see Ruto insulting Raila, he is doing it because if the handshake and he is actually insulting Uhuru. Its only that he cannot do it face to face)," he said.
The lawmaker made the remarks on Radio Citizen's Pata Shika show, also attended by Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai and former Lang'ata MP aspirant Stanley Livondo.
He also blamed the DP for the rising political temperatures in the country thanks to his unending politicking.
"Yule mtu anayeleta joto la kisiasa nchini ni Ruto (its Ruto who is the source to the heating political temperatures)," he added.
This follows a series of condemnations on the DP who has been accused of being too obsessed with his 2022 presidential ambitions ton an extent of launching early campaigns.
His critics had taken issue with his unending regular trips across the nation and the politicking being witnessed among people in his camp.
However, he has insisted that his cross-country tours are solely aimed at supervising government projects, with the President's consent.
