Police in Mogotio, Baringo County, are holding a man accused of killing another man over allegations of being in a romantic relationship with his wife.
The police suspect that the man hacked the deceased to death and also injured the woman in question, in an incident that happened in Pombo village on Saturday night.
The incident was confirmed by Mogotio Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) head Luka Tumbo, who said that the man attacked the two at the woman' house.
He said that the two had separated months ago, before the suspect traced the two to the house and attacked them, suspecting that they were having an affair.
"He suspected the two had a love affair and he went to the wife's house and attacked them," he said, adding that the separation was due to domestic wrangles.
According to the DCI boss, the suspect and the woman have eight children together.
In May, another similar incident was reported in the same constituency, where a man stabbed another one to death over claims of having an affair with his wife.
He also attacked his wife, who was pregnant at the time, for allegedly being in a relationship with the 19-year-old man, resulting in the death of the unborn baby.
